What Is KeyQuencer Lite?
KeyQuencer Lite is a utility that lets you create shortcuts, called macros, that perform a series of tasks with a single keystroke. Using KeyQuencer Lite you can type your name, change your monitor’s colors, change the sound, connect to the Internet, or do just about anything—all with a keystroke.
What You Need to Begin
• A Macintosh (or compatible) computer running MacOS 7.0 or higher.
• A hard disk drive with at least 2 MB free.
• 4 or more megabytes of RAM.
Installation
If you are upgrading from an earlier version of KeyQuencer, make sure that you leave the old KeyQuencer control panel in the Control Panels folder when you run the Installer. If you move it, the Installer will not transfer your macros to KeyQuencer Lite 2.0 and you will lose them.
More generally, you don’t need to manually remove any existing KeyQuencer file from your System folder since the Installer will take care of everything. KeyQuencer 1.x files are moved into a backup folder, KeyQuencer 2.x files are deleted and replaced by the new ones, and third-party extensions are always preserved.
1. Disable any virus protection, or disk security software before you begin.
2. Double-click the KeyQuencer Lite Installer icon.
3. Click Install.
4. The KeyQuencer Lite Installer will copy all necessary files to the appropriate locations. If you have an earlier version of KeyQuencer, the Installer will update all your old files. After installation is complete, you you should restart your Macintosh.
5. Enable any virus protection or disk security software that was previously disabled.
6. KeyQuencer 1.2 users should manually find and remove the old Macro Editor FAT application since the Installer doesn't take care of it.
If there are more than 50 macros in an existing KeyQuencer 1.2 control panel, the first 50 are copied to the installed KeyQuencer Macros suitcase and the others are backed up to one or more files named Your KeyQuencer Macros inside the KeyQuencer Lite folder.
That's it! You are ready to begin using KeyQuencer Lite.
